Michael Boo is a composer, creative writer, church handbell choir director and licensed Realtor from Chesterton, Indiana.

Michael holds a Bachelors of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago and a Masters of Music in Composition and Theory from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.

He is the Staff Writer for DCI (Drum Corps International), writing program book descriptions, DVD liner notes and material year-round for DCI.org. He also writes extensively for other pageantry organizations, including BOA (Bands of America) and WGI (Winter Guard International). His contributions to these various activities has earned him the nickname, "The Pen of Pageantry."

Over a dozen of his concert band compositions have been premiered in China and he has recently been picked up by TRN Music Publisher. He is the composer-in-residence for Windiana, the professional concert band of northwest Indiana.

He also is an assistant director of the Valparaiso University/Community Concert Band, a percussionist in the band and a percussionist in the professional concert band, Windiana, as well as Windiana?s official composer-in-residence.
